Practice guides
The tools you actually open every day — plus an ear that listens back
Sadhana AI is a practice app for Carnatic, Hindustani and Western classical music. It carries the everyday kit — a tanpura drone, tuners, a metronome with tala modes, a loop for the phrase you keep missing — and it can also listen to a take you record and tell you where the pitch drifted.

Start with the tool you need
By tradition
These are three genuinely different configurations, not one app with the labels swapped. Each guide says what is set up for that tradition and where its support is thinner.
Carnatic
Tanpura at your kattai, tala on the metronome, Carnatic sargam, and raga and shruti identification from a recording — the tradition the analysis was built on.
Hindustani
Bhatkhande sargam with komal swaras lowercase and tivra Ma uppercase, a tanpura on Sa and Pa, taal-based rhythm, and bansuri, violin and tabla modes.
Western classical
Concert pitch rather than Sa-relative, staff notation in your instrument's clef, transposing instruments offset, open-string tuner presets, MusicXML export, and metre rather than tala.
What this app is, and what it is not
Being straight about this saves everyone time, so it is on every page here.
- It is a practice aid that measures pitch and timing. It can tell you that a phrase sat flat of the reference, or that you drifted from the shruti. That is a measurement.
- It does not grade musicianship. Nothing here assesses whether a gamaka was shaped correctly, whether your bhava suited the kriti, or whether you are ready for a concert. Those judgements belong to a teacher, and the app is built to sit alongside one.
- Analysis runs on a take you record or upload, not as a live score while you sing. The tuner is the live surface; raga detection and note-by-note comparison happen after the take.
- It does not ship a graded syllabus. There is no built-in progression through sarali varisai, alankaram and varnam. You bring the material; the app gives you the tools and the measurements.
