Running a class in Sadhana AI
The problem this addresses is the week between lessons: you set work, and you find out seven days later whether it was done, by which point a wrong habit has had seven days to set.
What you can set up
- A class. Your students in one private group, invited by a shareable link.
- Assignments with reference recordings. Attach the take you want them working against, so "practise this" means a specific thing.
- A weekly schedule and practice routines.
- Submissions. Students send takes back as audio or video.
- Progress tracking across the class.
- Notation you have corrected — see the notation guide — shared as a PDF so everyone reads the same thing.
How a week looks
- After the lesson, set an assignment and attach a reference recording of the passage.
- The student practises against it during the week, using the drone and tala and loop practice for the hard parts.
- They record a take and submit it.
- You listen, and leave feedback. The app's pitch measurement can point you at where to listen first, which saves time on a large class.
- Next lesson starts from what you actually heard rather than from a report of practice done.
What stays with you
Practically, this is the honest pitch to a teacher: it removes the administration and the "did you practise?" conversation, and it narrows where you spend your listening. It does not reduce how much teaching you need to do.
Privacy, since you are handling students' recordings
Classes and Circles are private groups, not a public feed — there is no discovery, no follower graph and no public profile browsing. Submissions are visible according to the group's visibility, and there are moderation, reporting and block controls. One-to-one direct messages are available. Full details are in the privacy policy; if you teach minors, read it before inviting them.
Availability
Free to download on iPhone and Android, and usable in a browser, so a student without a recent phone is not excluded. An optional Sadhana AI Pro subscription is offered inside the app; availability differs by platform, so check current terms there.
